VEThe Electron II, the latest product in the GRUAU 100% Electric Commercial Vehicles range, equipped with the electric drive system from the equipment manufacturer ACTIA, is one of the innovations expected at the ITS exhibition from 5 to 9 October. The electric powertrain of the Electron II is the result of nearly 2 years of collaboration between two companies that are able to bring together Innovation and Industry for "Made in France", with important international ambitions.

Patrick Gruau, president of the eponymous group, European leader in Light Commercial Vehicle conversion, clearly states his ambition: "To become for the electric commercial vehicle of tomorrow, what we are today in the Commercial Vehicle conversion market."

According to Jean-Louis Pech, "Equipping electric vehicles is a major line of development for ACTIA; it reflects our commitment to the challenges related to sustainable mobility."

Committed to BlueGreen initiative (Sustainable Development), whose major focus is to offer clean solutions, the Gruau Group has been investing in electric vehicles for more than 10 years. This experience enabled him to develop a good expertise in the field and to test different technologies. Gruau is today the only manufacturer offering an electric 3.5T commercial vehicle solution with its new Electron II range, available for the transport of goods, passengers, ... and meeting the expectations of last mile urban logistics.

The high flexibility of the Electron II makes it possible to provide an overall personalised offer which is 100% configurable! Indeed, thanks to its multi-specialist manufacturer-coachbuilder trade, the Electron II by Gruau is totally adaptable:

  • To all professions: transport of goods (luton vans, parcel deliveries, refrigerated or insulated vehicles), passenger transportation, roadwork, funeral, ambulance, etc.
  • In terms of autonomy provided by the batteries. An ELECTRON II Courier Van version will not have the same energy requirements as an ELECTRON II for a municipal refuse collection service. This flexibility will therefore make it possible to select the right configuration for the appropriate Customer use!
  • As well as to all commercial vehicle profiles and models offered by manufacturers.

This solution offers therefore new urban services and can be used to develop delivery services, passenger transportation and medical transport in city centres, without the regulatory constraints of a thermal vehicle.

The Electron II is equipped with an ACTIA powertrain system, which is a compact system with high-performance, and will be on display outside the ITS Demonstrations site from 5 to 9 October. Inside, on stand No. D113, a GRUAU/ACTIA area will show the expertise of the equipment manufacturer's in terms of powertrain systems and connected vehicles.

For ACTIA, Mobility and Intelligent Transport are not only synonymous with energy management - today, over 5,000 vehicles are operating with ACTIA powertrain systems - but also with connectivity. The group's know-how in telematics, diagnostics or fleet management services and vehicle layout - chassis-cab and platform-cab - is now at the heart of a platform of connected services. Over one million telematics units have already rolled out of ACTIA factories. For its ACTIA ICAN telematics unit, the group recently received the Grands Prix Gold Award for Automotive Innovation which will be presented at the 2015 Equip'Auto show in Paris. ACTIA ICAN will be showcased at the ITS exhibition.
