DUDHDes Usines et des Hommes

ACTIA and its Colomiers industrial site are being highlighted by the Des Usines et des Hommes event, a photographic exhibition by the well-known photographer Thierry Bouët. This exhibition, the preview of which took place at the Petit Palais on 14 September, promotes the know-how of industrial intermediate-sized businesses in France.

Strictly speaking, linking Art and Industry is not a new idea. What makes this project stand out is its artistic intention. Des Usines et des Hommes is a project backed by the association for intermediate-sized businesses METI, l'Usine Nouvelle magazine, the outdoor advertising company JCDecaux and Banque Palatine. These close partners of intermediate-sized businesses want to bring French industry to the forefront along with the men behind it. This exhibition achieves this by bringing together shots from 35 production sites.

Although very different from each other, these factories are alike in that they are all "technological gems" that combine modernity and innovation. This is the particular angle that Thierry Bouët was able to capture. ACTIA has been a part of these "Made in France champions" since its creation in 1986. One of the group's objectives is to maintain and develop its production in France. The Colomiers industrial site, near Toulouse, which is highlighted in this exhibition, brings together almost 250 people. This factory produces and integrates circuit boards into on-board systems designed for the Automotive or Aeronautics sector.

The Usines et des Hommes exhibition will go on a "tour de France" on the JCDecaux advertising network. The photos will be reproduced in an attractive book which will be available at the end of the year.
